COMSYS blockchain content study gained significant media coverage
Our work on a quantitative analysis of the impact of arbitrary blockchain content on Bitcoin, which COMSYS researcher <link>Roman Matzutt presented at the 22nd International Conference on Financial Cryptography and Data Security in Curaçao in February, has gained significant media coverage. Notable media outlets that cover our work include <link http: www.bbc.com news technology-43485572>BBC News, <link http: www.cbc.ca radio podcasts current-affairs-information as-it-happens>CBC Radio: As It Happens (radio interview with COMSYS researcher <link>Jens Hiller), <link http: dfw.cbslocal.com video>CBS Local, <link https: www.heise.de newsticker meldung bitcoin-forscher-finden-kinderpornographie-in-der-blockchain-4000693.html>heise online (German), <link https: nypost.com blockchain-for-bitcoin-is-infected-with-child-porn>New York Post, and <link https: www.theguardian.com technology mar child-abuse-imagery-bitcoin-blockchain-illegal-content>The Guardian.
While we disagree with the sensationalism in reporting for most of these articles (which mainly focus on <link http: money.cnn.com technology security bitcoin-porn index.html>information that has already been known for five years), we are still impressed by the attention our work has created. An extensive list of media outlets covering our work, frequently asked questions and contact information are available <link https: blockchain.comsys.rwth-aachen.de>here.
We are overwhelmed by the media attention for our research. Unfortunately, we currently do not have the capacity to respond to every request individually and in detail. We have collected the most frequently asked questions and the answers to them on a <link https: blockchain.comsys.rwth-aachen.de>dedicated website.
