On May 16th our friend Raimondas Sasnauskas successfully defended his PhD thesis! Congratulations!

With his work on Symbolic Execution of Distributed Systems, Raimondas has significantly advanced the application of symbolic execution for detecting software faults in communication systems. In his thesis, he presented different methods to enhance symbolic execution for distributed software analysis.  In addition, he developed novel techniques to increase the scalability of symbolic execution. After an exciting talk and a very successful oral examination, the COMSYS group celebrated at the Ponttor, a very well-known ancient gate building that is part of Aachen's former town fortification. We celebrated all night long, as it sadly was also the time to say goodbye. Raimondas has already left for the University of Utah, where he will work with <link http: www.cs.utah.edu>John Regehr as a post-doctoral researcher. Congratulations again, Raimondas! We wish you all the best for your future academic career!
